Lomalagi is for Lovers

Location

Where, you ask, is Fiji? This lush country of more than 300 islands is about in the same spot south of the equator as Hawaii is north of the equator. You 'lose' a day when you come and 'get it back' when you return because Fiji, just west of the International Date Line, is literally the first country in the world to see each new day. It may be helpful to know that noon (Standard Time) in Fiji on a Monday is 5:00 pm (Pacific Standard Time) on Sunday, the day before. Flower

Map of the Pacific
There are several flights every week from LA or Honolulu which arrive at the international airport in Nadi (pronounced NAN-dee) on Fiji's main island of Viti Levu. There are also many flights from other overseas destinations -- just ask your travel agent for details.
Map of Fiji Lomalagi is located on Vanua Levu, Fiji's second largest island. Known as 'The Friendly North', Vanua Levu is the real Fiji. A quick one hour flight from Nadi to Savusavu brings you to us with excellent connections from most incoming international flights. Your arrival time might require an overnight stay in the Nadi area because the inter-island airlines don't fly after dark. Please ask your travel agent or us for recommended accommodations, if required.

Flower Upon your arrival in Savusavu, we will meet your flight and whisk you off to Lomalagi, about 30 minutes away, along the truly scenic Hibiscus Highway. When you must at last depart, we will take you to the Savusavu airport for your return to the real world.
Things to bring:
Your camera and plenty of film. Sunscreen is a must and insect repellent is recommended although insects are not really a problem. Your favorite cassettes and CDs for the player in your room. If you forget, we have a large selection. Dress in public is quite conservative. You can dress as you like at Lomalagi but if you travel outside, especially to a village, you'll want to avoid short shorts, halter tops, bathing suits, etc. Bermuda shorts are fine. Dinner in Lomalagi's dining pavilion is casual but if you want to dress up that's OK too. You may want a light jacket in the evening if you're here from April through September because evenings can be cool (mid 60's). Shoes aren't worn in Fijian homes or in Lomalagi's villas.

What to Bring?

FlowerLomalagi is a working coconut plantation. Our 25 acres have over 1,600 feet of beachfront. The grounds are extensively landscaped and we have used wide wooden walkways throughout. The grounds and walkways are lighted at night with green lighting, a truly lovely effect.

There are six HUGE villas, approximately 1,200 square feet each. Each villa is built into the side of the hill facing the sea. There are three 'categories' of villa: One has been designated as our
'Honeymoon' villa because it is extremely private. Three others are 'Hilltop' villas with unbelievably spectacular views. Two are 'hillside' villas which also have wonderful views and are closer to the beach.

The pool at Lomalagi Flower Our hexagonal dining pavilion overlooks the pool, facing the sea. We can accommodate up to 24 for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch -- twelve guests and up to twelve locals (or guests from other resorts), by reservation only. The 'play house' is located nearby, with a regulation pool table, our 'swap' library and lots of board games.

Our swimming pool is 80' x 20', in an "S" shape and uses filtered sea water. Two giant waterfalls interact with the pool and there are several secluded sunning spots. Lomalagi faces due North so we have sun at the pool all day long.
